We spend the time doing a personal treatment plan and make sure you understand every stage in creating your new denture. In most cases we can try your new denture in to check the feel and look and make sure it’s “you” and if needed make any adjustments, before your new dentures are finished.

Tooth Addition

If you have had or need to have a tooth extracted, we can in most cases add a tooth to your existing denture. Also a replacement retention clasp can also be added if necessary. This procedure may be performed either before or after the extraction occurs.

Relining Dentures

Relining a denture is replacing the fitting surface of the denture, that is, the part of the denture that fits against your gums. Relining should be done when the denture is in generally good condition, but not fitting as well as it could or after natural teeth have been extracted and an immediate denture or tooth addition has been fitted. In some cases old or worn out dentures may need to be re-modelled or new dentures made.

Soft Denture Liners

A soft liner is placed in that part of a denture base that contacts tissues. This may provide comfort for those people who experience considerable pain while wearing a denture.

These people may have a lower threshold for pain, and/or the gum tissue that overlays jaw bone may be thinner than normal and does not cushion the pressure as well. By replacing the hard denture plastic with a soft denture liner helps eliminate or reduce this painful area's.

Advantages of a Soft Denture Liner

  1. Ideal for where the ridge (gums) are sharp or have prominent bone  or where the tissue is thin and does not cushion ridge (gums) from the hard denture base.
  2. Soft liners can sometimes enable people to wear dentures that otherwise may not been able too.

Disadvantages of a Soft Denture Liner

  1. Over time Soft liners can absorb saliva and microscopic food particles.
  2. Soft liners should be replaced every two years.
